Arrive at Dubai International Airport. Transfer to your hotel. Evening exploration of the stunning Dubai Marina waterfront — gleaming superyachts, waterfront restaurants and the futuristic skyline reflected in the water. Dinner with views of The Palm Jumeirah.

Morning visit to the Burj Khalifa — ride the world's fastest lift to the At the Top observation deck on the 148th floor for 360° views across the city, desert and Gulf. Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping mall, houses an indoor ice rink, aquarium and the spectacular Dubai Fountain show (every 30 minutes from 6pm). Evening dinner overlooking the Fountain.

Morning: immerse yourself in Old Dubai. Cross the historic Dubai Creek by traditional abra (wooden boat) to explore the Gold Souk — 10 tonnes of gold on display — and the fragrant Spice Souk, where frankincense, saffron and rose water fill the air. Spice market lunch. Afternoon: head into the desert for a classic dune bashing experience in a 4x4, camel riding at sunset, and a traditional Bedouin camp dinner under the stars with belly dancing and shisha.
