MAURITIUS THE LAND OF SPARKLING BLUE WATERS
Mauritius is a remote relaxation hub within the sparkling blue waters of the Indian Ocean. First discovered by Arab sailors in the ninth century, its postcard-perfect beaches, diverse wildlife and fresh seafood have attracted visitors back ever since. The island provides endless ways to relax, but if you are after something adventurous then you will not be left wanting. The surrounding waters are a playground for kitesurfing, speed boating and water skiing. The intense blue waters are perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving amongst the abundant marine life and coral reef. The fun continues on dry land, where you can enjoy rock climbing, canyoning or a tour of the Moka Mountains by quad bikes, 4×4 or on horseback. Mauritius is also a paradise for the palate, offering exotic dishes such as deer curry and roasted wild boar. Beachside shacks serve fish fresh off the boats, while other street food vendors offer coconut water and delicious fruit covered in chili and sugar. Accommodation ranges from luxury beachfront hotels to cozy guesthouses, with choices scattered all over the island. You will also find a good selection of seaside villas and apartments.
