Overview.

This spectacular safari that covers some of the best of Uganda will take you through several different ecosystems. You will experience different array of flora and fauna. The highlight of the tour include:

  • Bigodi swamp walk and birding experience
  • Tracking Chimpanzees in Kibale forest.
  • Game viewing and Boat ride in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
  • Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest.
  • Canoeing as you birdwatch at Mabamba Swamp near Lake Victoria.

Day1: Arrival-Entebbe.

Today you will arrive in Uganda at Entebbe international airport. Upon finalization of your emigration’s formalities, you will be met and welcomed by our safari guide bearing a signage with your name. You will thereafter be transferred to your accommodation in Entebbe town. The guide will assist you to check in and to exchange money or make purchases where need be. The guide shall give you a thorough briefing of your tour later in the evening. Accommodation: Karibu Guest House (Dinner)

Day 2: Visit Bigodi Swamp

After your breakfast, will check out from the Lodge for a transfer to Kibale Forest National park; commonly known as the capital for the primates due to its highest concentration of the primate species. The park is also a home to one of man’s closest relatives the chimpanzees and also other primate species and bird species. The journey will lead you through a typical Ugandan countryside with local homesteads and numerous tea plantations. You will arrive in Kibale in the afternoon and check in to your accommodation. Later in the evening, you will go for the Bigodi swamp walk and birding experience with chances of meeting different bird species including the rare papyrus Gonolek that may be spotted. You may also encounter primates such as the black and white Colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys and red-tailed monkeys. Accommodation: Chimpanzee Forest Guest House on (Full Board)

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking. Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to Kanyanchu tourist center for briefing, orientation and allocating of the ranger guide before setting off for the chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest. You will follow the trails in search for Man’s closest relatives, the chimpanzees. Aside from the Chimpanzees, the incredibly diverse forest is home to over 13 species of primates including the rare L’Hoest, red Colobus monkey, blue monkey, black faced vervet monkeys, grey mangabey, pottos, baboons and bush babies. After tracking, you will exit the forest and have lunch then drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. Accommodation: Marafiki Safari Lodge on (Full Board)

Day 4: Game drive and Boat ride

Early morning you shall have a game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park. The park’s diverse ecosystems, which include sprawling savanna, shady, humid forests, sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands, make it the ideal habitat for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds. The game drive could be rewarded with sightings of elephants, buffalo, antelopes, warthogs and on rare occasions; lions, leopard and hyenas. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. Thereafter, you will drive to your accommodation and check in. Accommodation:         Marafiki Safari Lodge on (Full Board).

Day 5: Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha sector game drive

You will check out of your accommodation after breakfast to be transferred to Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National park for a game drive on your way to Bwindi impenetrable national park. This region is most famous for tree climbing lions and conspicuous wildlife viewing. An experienced ranger guide who will assist you in the search for the tree climbing lions, more animals and birds will lead you. The ranger will also give you a lot of information about the respective animals and the park. Later in the afternoon you will proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park; the home of mountain Gorillas. The journey will lead you through the mountainous region with numerous photography opportunities. Upon arrival, you will check in to your accommodation and rest in preparation for the next day’s activities. Accommodation:         Haven Lodge Buhoma on (Full Board).          

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

After breakfast, you will be accompanied by the guide to the park headquarters for the briefing at 08:00hrs well equipped with your packed lunch. You will then be divided into groups depending on the Gorilla family you have been allocated to track, thereafter proceed in to the forest and start your Gorilla trekking experience following the trails in the forest. During the Gorilla trekking experience, you may also encounter other different primate species as well as a variety of bird species. You will have one hour to observe, photograph and record the giant and gentle Gorillas. This is truly a rewarding experience you will live to remember. After tracking the Gorillas, you will return to your accommodation to relax or you might enjoy any other optional activities around Bwindi. Day 7: Drive to Entebbe. COVID-19 test

Early in the morning, you will depart from Bwindi and start your long journey to Entebbe town. At the equator point, you will have a stop for lunch. You may also purchase souvenirs and take pictures. In the evening, you will arrive in Entebbe and check in at your lodge. You will take a COVID-19 test in Entebbe at your accommodation. Results for the test are expected within 12 – 24 hours. Accommodation: Papyrus Guest House on (Full Board).

Day 8: Half-day visit to Mabamba swamp

After an early morning breakfast, you will proceed to Mabamba swamp where most of the birding is done by canoeing. Mabamba swamp lies on the border of Lake Victoria and is one of the most sought-after birding spots in Uganda. The swamps are famous as home to the elusive Shoebill stork.  Other birds to be seen include; African Water rail, Purple Gallinule, Squacco, Grey Herons, African Pygmy Goose, White-faced Whistling-Duck, Blue-Breasted Bee-Eater, Common Moorhen, Lesser Jacana among others. You will return to Entebbe for lunch and then drive to the airport to check in for your departure flight.
