10 days 9nights Itinerary – Legendary Migration!

After breakfast, we depart the hotel for Tarangire National Park, one of the beautiful parks in Tanzania with one of the highest animal concentration and abundance of wild animals. This park is distinguished by its astonishing landscape of baobab trees by the thousands. Our lodge, the Tarangire Sopa Lodge, is tranquil oasis overlooking the rolling plains. Arrive in time for lunch and check-in. Big herds move down from Ngorongoro, Manyara and surrounding game reserve to fetch water and food, as Tarangire is always full of vegetation. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge on (Full Board).

We start the day with full day game drive with a picnic lunch. The Tarangire River runs through its center, providing the only permanent water source for many miles, virtually guaranteeing enormous herds of Elephants, Zebras, wildebeest and Cape buffalos and of course the hunters, lions, hyenas… Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge on (Full Board).  

After breakfast, we drive to the ancient Lake Manyara, where game is plentiful and bird watching magnificent; it is also one of the few places in Africa to see tree- climbing lions. Our deluxe accommodation at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge overlooking the gleaming water below, where we may spy a flurry of the area’s pink flamingoes serving as a frantic counterpoint to hippos lounging in the lake. After breakfast, we continue to Lake Manyara National Park for game drives, with picnic lunch boxes, an amazing wildlife sanctuary with dramatic views. It is a depressed valley where the red and brown cliffs of the western wall of Great Rift Valley seem to rise up out of the lake itself. Springs rising from the base of the escarpment provide a welcome water supply. Manyara includes a variety of habitats, home to a variety of big game and a rich assortment of birdlife. After breakfast, we drive to Serengeti National Park via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu.   Enroute we visit Olduvai Gorge, where the Leakey family uncovered fossil Homo Habilis who lived 1.75 million years ago. Arriving at our lodge in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game viewing drive. We find ourselves deep in the heart of the savannah on the famous migratory corridor. The next two days we show that this is the ideal spot from which to explore. Morning and afternoon game runs are planned. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge on (Full Board).  

After a hearty breakfast, we drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, arriving in time for a luncheon at our lodge, situated on the rim of the crater from which you see an awesome panaroma, a collapsed volcano of 100 square miles containing prides of lion, rhino, hippo, hyena and elephant, as well as thousands of antelopes. Today we descend into the crater in our 4-wheel drive vehicles. This magnificent natural amphitheater contains the largest concentration of animals in all of Africa. Prides of lion, black rhino and elephant share this land with the legendary Maasai tribesmen who tend their cattle here. The grasses are short so game easily spotted and can be approached quite closely. We take a picnic luncheon and spend the day on the floor of the crater-tracking animals. After breakfast, we finally bid farewell to Serengeti and drive to Arusha. A dayroom is available for us at Tulia Boutique Hotel & Spa where we may rest or do last minute shopping until departure for the airport this evening. Day Room and lunch at Tulia Boutique & Spa. End of safari.
