Day 01 (arrival)
Arrival and transfer to Kampala Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet our safari representative who will transfer you to Humura Hotel located in Uganda’s capital, Kampala for an overnight stay (Bed and breakfast basis) Depending on your arrival time, you may have a city tour in Kampala for a community experience and visiting different attraction sites. In the evening, you will have a welcome dinner and an overnight stay at Humura Resort Kampala.
Day 02 : Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa rhinos This day, you will be transferred to Murchison falls National Park passing via Kampala city heading north words through the famous luwero triangle and have a first stop over at Nakasongola. Upon arrival you will be guides on foot to track the southern white Rhinos, with a close up experience perfect for clear photography, an encounter with different bird species as well. You will thereafter proceed for a lunch break at the Kabalega dinners before proceeding into the park. Murchison falls national park is Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area and one of the best safari destinations in Uganda blessed with abundance of wildlife and beautiful scenery into the park for especially the top of the falls hike to the point where the Nile River explodes violently forming a very powerful waterfall. Later in the evening, dinner and an overnight stay will be at Fort Murchison Lodge (full-board basis)
Day 03 : Game drive, boat trip and top of the falls hiking experience
After breakfast you will start your day with a morning game drive in the northern circuit of the park most famously the delta region with rolling plains where you may have sights of Giraffe, Lions, Elephant, Buffalo and Hartebeest and many more.
In the afternoon, go for a boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls. This is an experience not to be missed! The banks of the Nile are home to many species. You may see huge Nile Crocodiles, big Pools of Hippos and other wildlife that may come down to take water these include; the monitor lizards, buffaloes, elephants and many more. You will thereafter proceed for the top of the falls hike to the point where the Nile River explodes violently forming a very powerful waterfall. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Fort Murchison Lodge (Full Board basis)
Day 04 : Transfer to Kibale Forest National park
This morning you will be transferred to Kibale Forest National park. Commonly referred to as the primate’s capital of the world, this park is a home to man’s closest relatives the chimpanzees as well as other different primate species. Upon arrival into the park, you will be transferred to Kibale Forest Camp for dinner and an overnight stay (Full Board basis)

Day 06 : Morning crater walk and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park This morning you will is go for a fascinating crater walk in the extensive collection of biodiversity among which you may encounter some primates species in plantations and great example of a community-based approach to the natural resources management with magnificent view of the crater lake in this area.
Later you will return and be transferred to Queen Elizabeth NP Uganda’s premier destination with diversity of lots things to see. Upon, you will have a sunset game drive to encounter different animal species in this park before being transferred to Bush Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay (Full board basis).
Day 07 : Game drive and boat on the Kazinga channel. You will have breakfast then go for an early morning drive for of well-maintained tracks as you transfer to Ishasha wildness camp, where you may see the great herds of Uganda Kobs, the lions, lots grazers as African elephants, hippos and many others in the shady plains of the park. In the afternoon, you will go for an afternoon, boat cruise along the famous Kazinga channel that connects Lake George to Lake Edward. On the calm cruise expect seeing interesting species that inhabit the park such as enormous hippos, Nile crocodiles and buffalos just meters with over hundreds of bird species and elephants linger on the shoreline providing the park’s prime wildlife spectacle on this stretch. Time allowing, you will have a sunset game drive to meet different animal species residing in this park, thereafter return to Bush Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay (Full Board basis)
Day 08 : Transfer to Ishasha sector. This day you will be transferred to Ishasha sector and check in at Enjojo Lodge where you have your lunch as you prepare for a sun set game drive in search for tree climbing lions. You will encounter these tree climbing lions as well as other different animal species residing in this remote woodland sector located in the southern ends of Queen Elizabeth National park. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Enjojo Lodge (Full Board basis)
Day 09 : Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park This day you will conduct a game drive as you transfer to Bwindi a home to more than half of the total population of mountain gorillas of approximately 848 Gorillas planted high on to most altitude of a ridge looking across to the Virunga volcanoes with a primordial, mysterious and impenetrable forest that is Bwindi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Engagi Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay (Full Board basis)
Day 10 : Gorilla tracking experience at Bwindi. You will be accompanied by the guide to the park headquarters with for the briefing at 08:00hrs after breakfast well equipped with your packed lunch. You will then be divided into groups depending on the Gorilla family you have been allocated to track, thereafter proceed in to the forest and start your Gorilla tracking experience following the trails in the forest. During the Gorilla tracking experience, you may also encounter other different primate species as well as a variety of bird species. Once the Gorillas have been tracked, you will be given one hour of interaction and snapshots and videos clips of these giant and gentle Gorillas. This is truly a rewarding experience you will live to remember. After tracking the Gorillas, you will return for dinner and an overnight stay at Engagi Lodge (Full Board basis)
Day 11 : Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda After breakfast, you will prepare and checkout of the lodge, thereafter cross to Rwanda. Here you will visit Volcanoes National Park, on the Virunga ranges a home to the rare mountain Gorillas for another interesting Gorilla tracking experience. Upon arrival into the park, you will check in at Mountain View gorilla lodge for dinner and an overnight stay here (FB).
Day 12: Golden Monkeys tracking experience in Volcanoes NP After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters at Kinigi for briefing before proceeding for the Golden monkeys tracking experience. This day your ranger guides will lead you to the forest in search for the Golden monkeys through the forest trails. You may also encounter other animals and bird species along the way. Later in the afternoon, you will return to Mountain Gorilla View lodge for dinner and overnight stay (Full Board basis)
Day 13 : Transfer to Comoran Lodge Kibuye
This day you will be transferred to Kibuye. Upon arrival, you will go for a boat cruise on L. Kivu surrounded by superlative uplands what a view of scenery. You may see lots of birds and other aquatic life later in the evening you will go at Commoran lode (BB).
Day 14 : Transfer to Kigali for a city tour, farewell dinner and airport transfer
After breakfast, you will prepare to go for a city tour where you will appreciate the beauty of the city and its people with goodies and lots of items at exposure for acquision at ability of your pocket. In the after mass of a city tour, you will be transferred to the Flame tree house Kigali for a day room and fare-well dinner and later be transfer to the Kigali international airport for your flight.

Entry Requirements. Visas can be obtained upon arrival to Uganda. We recommend that you apply in online before arrival to Uganda. Since it is a Uganda/ Rwanda safari, I recommend that you apply for the East African Visa.
All visa applications must be completed via the Government of Uganda’s website. Under the new application process, you must apply online for all immigration services such as visas, permits, and passes at least two weeks prior to travel. The fee for a single-entry tourist visa is $50 and $100 for the East African Visa.

Immunizations and Health – International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required for entry to Uganda and Rwanda. No other immunizations are currently required for travel to Uganda and Rwanda, but you will want to take malaria medicine. Always consult with your doctor and/or the staff of a certified travel clinic when planning your individual immunization regimen. For your convenience, the Centers for Disease Control website offers a complete list of recommended immunizations for travel in Uganda and Rwanda:
Remember: Plan ahead! The gorilla tracking permits are hard to obtain (Few permits are issued on first come first serve basis). We recommend you consider booking at least six months in advance in order to secure all permits and allow time for consultations with your health-care professionals.
Making Travel Arrangements to Uganda & Rwanda
On this tour, international airfare is NOT included. You will need to get your international air to Entebbe International Airport in Uganda (airport code EBB), and return from Kigali, Rwanda (code KGL). We encourage you to contact us in case of any challenges when booking for your flights.
NOTE: We strongly recommend that you confirm your participation in advance to enable us secure the Gorilla and chimpanzee tracking permits in time, as well as have your accommodation booked in advance to avoid any disappointments.
What to Bring
In late March, average daily temperatures in Uganda and Rwanda range from 66 to 77 degrees, with the weather much cooler in the mountains. Neutral color safari gear is appropriate, with a couple of nice outfits for dinners. Try to pack light and bring only one piece of soft-sided luggage plus your carry-on. Soft-sided luggage is easier to handle in safari vehicles. Pack any medications you require in a carry-on bag and leave expensive jewelry at home. A full packing list with necessary safari gear will be sent to you via email a few months before the tour’s start.
Uganda: The unit of currency is the Uganda shilling (UGX). The US dollar is traditionally the hard currency of preference, but Euro and Pound Sterling are also widely accepted. Hard currency cash can be changed for local currency at banks and private bureaux de change in all large towns, but travelers’ cheques are not accepted outside Kampala. Banknotes currently in circulation are 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000 and 50,000 shillings. Coins currently circulating are 100, 200, 500, 1000 shillings. Local currency can be drawn against Visa and other major credit cards at selected ATMs in Kampala, at Entebbe International Airport, and in a few other large towns.
Rwanda: The unit of currency is the Rwandan franc (RWF). The Rwandan franc can be divided into 100 centimes. Notes are in denominations of 5000, 1000, 500 and 100. Coins are in denominations of 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1. The US dollar is readily accepted everywhere.

We recommend you purchase travel insurance with Travel Guard to cover for unforeseen events prior to and during your trip. More so, during your Uganda – Rwanda safari, you will have a Medical evacuation insurance cover. This helps in case of any emergency, you can be airlifted to Kampala/ Nairobi.
